Cairo

Watched The Hangover & Angels & Demons on the plane on the way over, live Ramadan footage from Mecca

Listened Car horns, friendly greetings, our tour guide Tariq, a market stall holder calling Mr B Mr Lucky, one of the breakfast waiters calling me my lady. I could get used to that!

Cairo flyover

Ate Delicious Indian food at The Moghul Room at the Mena House Oberoi

Inside the Mena House Oberoi

Read Egypt Eyewitness travel guide, Three Cups of Tea, Nineteen Minutes

Saw The River Nile every morning over breakfast, the Great Pyramids at Giza, a papyrus ‘museum’ that actually was a shop, camels, the Great Sphinx, the stepped pyramid & mastaba of Ti at Saqqara, Memphis, lots of hieroglyphs, 9 rows of cars driving where 4 should be, donkeys, shishas, the most wonderful chandelier in the mosque at the Citadel, the busy busy Khan el-Khalili market

Entrance to the Mastaba of Ti

Hieroglyphs at Memphis

Camel rides at the Great Pyramids

Mr B and the Colossus of Ramesses II at Memphis
Blushed Tipped my full teacup far too early, over myself, instead of into my mouth. Mr B almost choked with laughter.

Used Hotel dry cleaning service

Loved every minute of it

  9. "shishas, the most wonderful chandelier in the mosque at the Citadel" those were of my cousins' (Who happen to be English) favourite things!! Cairo is empty now, everyone has gone to the North Coast or the Red Sea (for the long weekend) and it's lovely!
