I visited one of the most awesome places in the world. The Great Pyramids.Visiting the pyramids was the first thing we did in Cairo. We climbed a little way up the Great Pyramid and just sat and gazed. We needed time to take it all in.
After I told my lovely friend Courtney about seeing the pyramids she replied:
To think people were able to build these massive beautiful structures so long ago with a fraction of the 'technology' we have now. It blows my mind. We have so many tools and machines to help us now and the things we build look like my childhood lego/building block in comparison. It's sad.
The Great Pyramid was completed in 2560 BCIt was the tallest man-made structure in the world in the world for over 3,800 years
And the wheel hadn't even been invented yet!
It was a privilege to be there.
